Tim oversees the firm’s Insolvency and Litigation Services Department which specializes in bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, forensic accounting and litigation services. He is a recognized expert in the field of bankruptcy and has been personally involved with more than 1,000 bankruptcy and other litigation matters. He has testified as an expert witness in more than 50 cases in depositions and in U.S. District Court as well as other bankruptcy and state courts.
Tim had extensive forensic accounting experience prior to joining Bederson. He worked in the internal audit department of two Fortune 500 corporations. As Manager of Treasury Services and General Accounting, a $100 million division of CR Bard, Inc., Tim had responsibility for more than 20 employees. As Senior Internal Auditor, Tim conducted fraud investigations, one of which resulted in the indictment of 12 individuals and recovery by the company of approximately $500,000.
Tim has held many appointments over the course of his career including; Special Master in Federal District Court Case,State Court Trustee and State Court Receiver. He was selected to serve on a committee with Judge Moore and the U.S. Trustee to evaluate the role of Examiner in the District of New Jersey and currently serves as an Examiner in the District. Tim also served as a duly appointed Chapter 11 Trustee. He was selected as post-confirmation liquidating Trustee on numerous occasions and has assisted Trustees and other Fiduciaries in numerous liquidations.
He has been a featured speaker for organizations including; Bankruptcy Bench Bar Conference; New Jersey Panel of Bankruptcy Trustees; New York Institute of Credit; New Jersey Society of CPAs; AGN, an international affiliation of accounting Firms; and International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation.
Tim currently serves as Treasurer of the West Orange Lions’ Club and is a past president. He is a member of professional organizations, including: American Bankruptcy Institute; American Institute of Certified Public Accountants; New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants; Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the National Association of Bankruptcy Trustees.
Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Seton Hall University.
He and his wife reside in Morris County.
