Steven P. Bortnick, CPA

Steven is based in Bederson’s Fairfield office and is a member of the firm’s Insurance Committee. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the State of New Jersey as well as a New Jersey licensed Life Insurance Producer.

Steven has over 25 years of experience in public accounting providing generations of entrepreneurs and their families with tax, accounting, estate planning and business advisory services. Steven’s practice includes clients with businesses in the healthcare industry, wholesale product distribution and light manufacturing, insurance agencies, third party administrators and real estate management. Having personal involvement in a family-owned manufacturing and distribution business, Steven brings first-hand experience, knowledge and an operator’s mentality to his engagements.

Steven is a member of the AICPA (American Institute for Certified Public Accountants) and the NJSCPA (New Jersey Society for Certified Public Accountants). He has served as Director of the Essex County Chapter of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and has spoken at continuing professional education seminars. He is a frequent contributor to mainstream New Jersey news outlets such as the Bergen Record and industry publications including New Jersey Business, Commerce Magazine, NJBIZ and more.

He received a B.S. in Accounting from Franklin and Marshall College.
