Christopher Phillipps, CPA

Chris is a member of the firm’s Insolvency and Litigation Services Department which provides forensic accounting, insolvency, valuations and other litigation support. He specializes in matters concerning troubled companies and provides financial, tax, forensic and restructuring services in Chapter 7, Chapter 11 and non-bankruptcy cases. Chris works with debtors, trustees, chief restructuring officers and other parties-in-interest in a wide range of industries.

His bankruptcy experience includes providing financial and related advisory services to Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 Trustees, Unsecured Creditors’ Committees and Debtors-in- Possession including fraud investigations leading to the recovery of assets. He also assists trustees with analyzing Chapter 5 claims, new value and ordinary course defenses, terminating pension plans, developing cash flow projections, and preparing budget versus actual results.

Chris served as Financial Advisor on a restructuring in the diamond industry where he helped restructure numerous jewelry and real estate loans, negotiate an inter-creditor agreement, monitor borrowing base compliance, preserve existing assets, and ensure that the client avoided bankruptcy and continued as a going concern. He also has experience assisting trustees with the recovery of assets that debtors fraudulently transfer to insiders or comingle with related entities.

A Certified Public Accountant in the States of New Jersey and New York, Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants and the  New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants.

He graduated from the City University of New York’s College of Staten Island with a B.S. in Accounting.

Chris resides in Essex County.
