The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) has named Michael Caro, Jr., CPA, CFF, PSA a 2024 Ovation Award winner in the Emerging Leaders category. The Ovation Awards were announced October 16 and distributed in seven categories: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Emerging Leaders; Exceptional Educators; Impact; Innovation; Lifetime Leader and Women to Watch.
The Emerging Leaders category recognizes experienced professionals who have noteworthy professional accomplishments; combined personal and professional achievements that merit special recognition; and/or actively participated in the advancement of the profession or NJCPA. The individuals stand out in the areas of professional knowledge, skill, integrity and leadership.
Mr. Caro was recognized for his expertise as a quality control leader, non-profit accountant, and peer reviewer. In addition to serving on the Firm’s peer review team, he is also a member of the NJCPA Peer Review Executive Committee. Having earned Not-for-Profit 1 and Not-for-Profit II certifications, a Certified Fraud Examiner designation, and a public school accountant license, his commitment to continual professional betterment enables him to provide exceptional service to his nonprofit client base, which includes schools for children with disabilities, YMCA’s, other health-related organizations, HUD multifamily housing, employee benefit plans and professional service industries.
The NJCPA, with more than 13,000 members, represents the interests of the accounting profession and advances the financial well-being of the people of New Jersey. The NJCPA plays a leadership role in supporting the profession by providing members with educational resources, access to shared knowledge and a continuing effort to create and expand professional opportunities.
