At 12:01 AM on August 20, Charles Persing set out to walk 50,000 of his promised 100,000 steps to benefit Tunnel to Towers. His walk originated from his home and finished at the Carnegie Center in Princeton, at the scene of the 2nd Annual Tunnel to Towers 5k Run/Walk. Persing raised $5,888, and will continue the second 50,000-step leg of his campaign on September 11. Bederson served as sponsor and Susan Wernick provided multimedia support for event. Tunnel to Towers assists our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes and their families by providing them with smart houses, mortgage free homes and other types of support.
