PATERSON, NJ — Representatives from Bederson LLP New Jersey Certified Public Accountants are supporting the mission of Eva’s Village, a nonprofit in Paterson that helps thousands of men, women and children each year by addressing basic needs of food and shelter as well as complex issues around addiction, mental illness and chronic homelessness.
Eva’s Village helps break the cycle of poverty and addiction through more than 20 integrated programs. Their interconnected community of recovery and support services encompasses a three-block campus in Paterson.
For the second year, Eva’s is holding its Lawyers, Accountants and Finance Professionals Dinner on Feb. 21 at the Westmount Country Club in Woodland Park. Carolyn Danna, CPA from CohnReznick, David Ritter, Esq from Brach Eichler and Lex Zaharoff of HTG Investment Advisors are the 2019 Honorees.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on this year’s dinner committee along with a number of distinguished attorneys, CPAs and finance professionals,” said Susan Wernick, chief marketing officer at Bederson. “This year, we have launched a dynamic young professionals sub-committee comprised of young attorneys and CPAs who are working to raise awareness of Eva’s through innovative online initiatives. Allister Rodriguez, CPA from my firm is serving as the YP group leader.
“I am deeply appreciative of the support members of my firm have provided for the dinner and Eva’s overall mission,” Wernick said. “Christopher Phillipps, one of our forensic accountants, who is a classically trained pianist and movie score composer, volunteered to play holiday music for Eva’s lunch service in December and will be performing during the Annual Lawyers, Accountants and Finance Professionals Dinner on Feb. 21. Our committee strongly encourages everyone to attend and help support the life-saving mission of Eva’s Village.”
